I really hate the idea of writing about politics, especially considering how greatly this election has divided our country. Even more so, the potential outcome from this election is terrifying and for so many reasons. I feel like my anxiety level is through the roof.
Voting is not just your right as an American citizen, it is your duty. You owe it to yourself, your family, your friends, your neighbors, and your country, to use your voice during this crucial time. Not voting is like voting for the winner, and the results will not just affect you. It will affect everyone around you; it will affect the entire country, and even the world. We cannot afford to stay silent.
I will not start some big debate here on who should win or who I am voting for – those who know me personally know exactly who I am voting for and who I hope wins this election. But I will say that it is crucial that every American citizen come out and vote if you have not done so already. Your vote matters, and your voice matters.
So get up, maybe change out of your PJ’s (unless you want to wear them, which is totally cool with me), find out where you can vote at I Will Vote, and go make your voice known. Then come home and have a drink, because today you are going to need one.
Oh, and definitely read this. Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess) knows exactly what we need to hear today.
